KIJHL Power Rankings – Week 6 (Oct.29)

 

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League completed its sixth week of action for the 2023-24 regular season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlights the top-five teams based on winning percentage and their performance over the past 10 games.

Sicamous Eagles
Last Week: 1
Record: 10-2-0

The Eagles had a bye last week. Their power-play is 15-for-75, for a 20 per cent efficiency rate, while the penalty-kill is 7-for-64 – 89.1 per cent.

 

 

Beaver Valley Nitehawks
Last Week: 2
Record: 10-2-0

The Nitehawks won two of their three games, earning a 7-1 victory over Nelson, a 4-2 win over Kamloops, then lost 2-1 to Fernie. Their power-play is 13-for-48 – 27.1 per cent, while the penalty-kill is 6-for-47 – 87.2 per cent.

 

Princeton Posse
Last Week: 3
Record: 9-3-0

The Posse lost 4-2 to the 100 Mile House Wranglers on Saturday, then defeated the Spokane Braves 3-2. Their power-play is 16-for-71 – 22.5 per cent, while the penalty-kill is 10-for-62 – 83.9 per cent.

 

Columbia Valley Rockies

The Rockies won two of their three games last week starting with a 2-1 win over Kimberley, a 4-3 overtime victory over Creston Valley, then lost 4-3 in overtime to Kimberley. Their power-play is 7-for-58 – 12.7 per cent, while the penalty-kill is 8-for-49 – 83.7 per cent.

 

Kimberley Dynamiters

The Dynamiters lost two of their three games, beginning with a 2-1 loss to Columbia Valley, then 3-2 to Fernie and picked up a 4-3 overtime win over Columbia Valley. Their power-play is 10-for-49 – 20.4 per cent, and their penalty-kill is 6-for-51 – 88.2 per cent.
