A coaches work is never done.
The 2024-2025 hockey season may have just ended, but for the Columbia Valley
Rockies coaching team, planning for the 2025-2026 season started months ago.
The Rockies held their hockey camp in The Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena East
weekend, with over 60 players arriving to show their skills and test them against other
young players.
“Spring camp is an opportunity for us to find future talent whether they are underage or
end up playing with us next season,” said head coach Tayler Sincennes.
“We have been out on the scouting trail and will continue to do so throughout the month
of May trying to identify talent.”
The camp ran April 18-20 and while associate coach Tucker Braund said a fair number
of the kids were from Alberta and our local region, there were also a few from further
afield, including Vancouver and one from Germany.
“Right now it looks like we will be returning a big contingent off of our team from last
year,” said Sincennes. “We don’t have exact numbers at this time but it is looking
promising to get some of our talented veterans back into town.”
