Rockies’ Kinaschuk signs with MJHL’s Titans

Kayde Kinaschuk of the Columbia Valley Rockies has signed with the Neepawa Titans of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Kinaschuk, winner of the Top Scorer and Rookie of the Year awards for the Eddie Mountain division, finished second in points in the KIJHL with 33 goals and 54 points in 39 games.

“We are really looking forward to seeing Kayde in a Titans uniform in the fall,” said Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson, in a team statement on their Twitter account. “His scoring ability is something we certainly are excited about.”

Kinaschuk was motivated to have a strong season with the Rockies in the KIJHL to give himself the chance to move on to the higher level.

“I chose to come play for the Titans because I’ve heard nothing but good things about the town, the coach and the team,” said Kinaschuk, when the Titans announced his signing a letter of intent. “It really seems like they are a good organization that can really make a push next season and I want to help be a part of that.”

Kinaschuk credited the work done by Head Coach Briar McNaney and his staff for the work they have done to develop him.

“I have definitely improved my leadership skills. I feel like my defensive game has improved,” said Kinaschuk.
