KIJHL Power Rankings Week 3 – (Oct. 9)

 

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League completed its third week of regular season action for the 2022-23 season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlights the top-five teams based on winning percentage, with various tie-breakers to help decide after.

 

The Revelstoke Grizzlies remain undefeated after five games thanks to a 5-4 overtime victory over the Nelson Leafs, in a rematch of last year’s KIJHL Teck Cup Final. Colton McLeod was the OT hero for the Grizzlies, while Brady Augot and Brandon Gallo each had three assists. The Grizzlies then defeated the Summerland Steam 4-1 with Jack Wallace earning two assists and Gage Lajeunesse had a goal and assist.
The Columbia Valley Rockies enter the top-five thanks to a pair of wins over the Kimberley Dynamiters (3-1) and Golden Rockets (4-3). The Rockies have now won four of their five games and were led by Kayde Kinaschuk with three points in two games, including two goals.
The Osoyoos Coyotes rank third with the help of a pair of wins over the Sicamous Eagles (4-2) and Kelowna Chiefs (12-2). Carter Yarish and Hunter Harwood led the Coyotes with seven points each.
The Kimberley Dynamiters dropped a spot to fourth. They won their home-and-home set against the Fernie Ghostriders, 3-2 and 5-2, respectively. Cash Regan led the Dynamiters with five points.
The Princeton Posse dropped to fifth from second after splitting their two games last week, a 2-1 loss to Summerland, followed by a 4-2 win over Chase. Rookie Kassius Kler led the Posse with four points.
