Instat KIJHL 3 Stars of the Week: Jan. 9

Brandon Kasdorf of the Revelstoke Grizzlies, Tyson Tisdale of the Columbia Valley Rockies and Jake Dubinsky of the North Okanagan Knights have been named the Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 9.

Kasdorf – Top Forward – The Rosemary, Alberta product had a goal and five points in two games, including netting the game-winner and adding three assists in a 4-0 victory over the Sicamous Eagles. Kasdorf’s winner came on the power-play. In a 3-2 win over Princeton, he assisted on the opening goal scored by Tyden McWillis. In 16 games this season, Kasdorf has seven goals and 10 assists, which ranks him second overall on the team in points, however, his 1.06 points-per-game leads the Grizzlies.

Tisdale – Top Defenceman – The Sylvan Lake, Alberta product collected three assists in a 5-2 win over the Creston Valley Thunder Cats. One of Tisdale’s assists was on Jonah Fournier’s game-winning goal in the third period. In 27 games, Tisdale has two goals and 11 assists.

Dubinsky – Top Goaltender – The New Denver, B.C. product started the week by turning aside 28 of 29 shots in a 3-1 win over the 100 Mile House Wranglers. In his second game, Dubinsky faced a ton of rubber, 71 shots against the Osoyoos Coyotes and turned aside 67 in the 4-3 overtime loss. He faced 23 shots in each of the second and third period, then faced another four in overtime. In total, Dubinsky turned aside 95 of 100 shots in two games for a .950 SP, to go with a 2.45 GAA. This season, Dubinsky has four wins in 15 games, with a .919 SP and a 3.09 GAA.
